Satish Kumar writes: Like gravity, love is the holding and sustaining power in the world. Love is the essence, the meaning, and the purpose of life. Love is letting go of lust and fear, ego and expectations.

Love is the foundation on which mutuality, reciprocity, humility, and generosity are built. Love is the solution to all our problems such as the climate crisis, national and religious conflicts, racism, poverty, and social injustice.

As shared in his book, Radical Love Satish is hosting this weekend to help us to open our hearts and experience love at all levels, personal as well as universal love, intimate as well as ultimate love. Love of Nature, love of people, and love of yourself.

Peace-pilgrim, life-long activist, and former monk, Satish Kumar has been inspiring global change for over 50 years. He undertook a pilgrimage for peace, walking for two years without money from India to America for the cause of nuclear disarmament. Now in his 80s, Satish has devoted his life to campaigning for ecological regeneration and social justice. He is a world-renown author and international speaker, founder of The Resurgence Trust and Editor Emeritus of Resurgence & Ecologist – a change-making magazine he edited for over 40 years.

Extra Accommodation

If this retreat is as popular as we expect, we will be offering alternative accommodation for some at Marian Dunlop House in Dorchester. A retreat centre owned by the Fellowship of Meditation, it is a substantial Victorian house with comfortable upstairs bedrooms, a well-kept garden and very convenient for Dorchester South station. Staying here you will breakfast with others as a mini-community and then go to Othona by car (ours or yours) to join in the rest of the day's retreat activities.

We advise early booking if you'd particularly like accommodation at Othona. If you'd prefer to try Marian Dunlop House please say so in the 'Questions or Comments' section of the booking form. Prices (see below) are exactly the same as at Othona itself.
