A Place to be Real Together

Alexander Technique - an introductory workshop

Hands-on workshop with experienced practitioner, Inge Dyson

Sat 14 Sept 2019 (10.00am-4.00pm)

Space is available on this event! :-D

The Alexander Technique is in the field of health education, holistic, mind and body. It helps alleviate and prevent physical pain. Practising it will lead to co-ordination, balance and poise, and breathing more deeply becomes effortless – and much more.

Inge Dyson will introduce Alexander’s work and, through the course of the day amongst other group activities, will work on each person individually so that everyone can experience the ‘hands-on’ work directly. There will be time for questions throughout and a summing-up at the end.

She is an experienced Alexander Technique teacher who did her three-year training with Walter Carrington. Walter had taught on Alexander’s own training course for many years and then took it over when Alexander died in 1955, so her traditional training was in a direct line from Alexander himself.

She did her year’s teaching experience there, at another school and at a drama school. As well as a year’s post-graduate work with another, American, teacher she has participated in many weekend workshops with teachers from various countries. She also learns and practices vision work based on the Alexander Technique with a German teacher based in New Zealand who works all over the world.
