Space is available on this event! :-D
Or to be more accurate: dawn chorus, mothwatch... and a tasty cooked breakfast!
As first light strengthens, the woods and hedgerows around Othona come alive with birdsong. This is your morning to really listen - and learn a bit from an expert.
First timer or regular birdwatcher, you'll find Dominic Couzens a superb guide to this everyday miracle of the Spring. He is a renowned wildlife author and broadcaster, with encyclopaedic knowledge and a very engaging style, and a longtime firend of Othona.
Dominic is passionate about widening our understanding of the natural world, as well as communicating about threats to nature and what we can do to help our planet.
After the initial glory of the dawn chorus Dominic will lead a short walk in the direction of the beach, where we can expect different species of birds. Depending on the weather, there may also be evidence to share about whatever mammals and moths have visited Othona overnight.
Please be prepared to keep warm outdoors as standing listening in the early morning can be quite chilly. Waterproof footwear is advised for the walk towards the beach.
And then we share a community cooked breakfast - with a 'woodland liturgy' by way of Grace - all finishing by 9.00.
