A Place to be Real Together

>> Forgiveness May 2017

A day retreat for anyone wishing to explore the issue of forgiveness in their family relationships, whether those relationships are in the past or the present.

Beth Wareing and Jools Oates will create with you a safe space where you may consider the ideas from Desmond and Mpho Tutu’s ‘The Book of Forgiving’, and how useful they may be in your situation.

The Tutus describe the 4 steps of telling the story, naming the hurt, granting forgiveness and renewing or releasing the relationship.

Beth and Jools use a variety of ways to present the material, many of which are not language based, some of which are. They may be creative, story, metaphor, or movement based. The day will be accessible by people of all faiths and none.

Although this work is often done with the whole family, please note this retreat is only for adults. A couple attending this retreat together could be particularly appropriate. But similarly two adult siblings, or parent and adult child… or you can attend just on your own.

Beth and Jools are qualified family and systemic psychotherapists with many years of experience in working with children, young people and families in mental health services, youth offending services, and schools.

Their vision is to extend the availability of the wisdom and insight of systemic therapy to all, without need for diagnosis or problem definition.

Systemic therapy pays attention to the quality of relationships between people, rather than locating any difficulties within an individual.
