A Place to be Real Together

>> Quiet Week 2018 Feb

You’d like space for reflection as the fresh year begins to unfold? This week is not a completely silent retreat, but offers a depth of tranquillity, a quality of presence that will rest parts of you that need rest… and awaken parts that have dozed off!

Janet Aldridge has served as an Othona trustee and is a counsellor by profession. She still revisits her native Canada, but is a great enthusiast for the culture and heritage of Britain and Europe. Her own spiritual path is in the Christian tradition with an openness to the contemplative strands in all world faiths. She will be giving us food for thought each morning and also making herself available for one-to-one conversations for a while each afternoon.

Janet's chosen as our theme 'Living More Deeply'. Each day an aspect of the theme is opened up through a period of talk and discussion, backed up by handouts she's prepared in advance. There'll also be silent meditation time and gentle stretches on offer! With both quiet and company when you want them. Janet will also offer one-to-one consultations by arrangement.

Single rooms are guaranteed this week (unless you specifically want to share). A blazing log fire and home-cooked food.

Some meals in silence. A cosy library. A peaceful chapel. A long empty beach and good walking country. An accepting, creative community. Won’t you join us?
