A Place to be Real Together

Quiet Week - Presence, poetry & pilgrimage: Exploring Celtic Spirituality

An invitation to rest & enjoy some time & space

Wed 15 Sep - Mon 20 Sep 2021

We are so often busy – even in lockdown! We don’t make time to be in the present moment & rest awhile so this is an invitation to enjoy some time & space at Othona.

The retreat will focus on the hallmarks of Celtic Christian spirituality, the three P’s – the presence of God in all things, poetry and life as a pilgrimage into the heart of God.

So there will be an opportunity to learn about the Celtic tradition though the lives of early Christian saints, to practice presence through led meditations, enjoy poetry and consciously walk in Dorset’s beauty but there will also be plenty of time for you to relax, read or be creative too.  The week is a chance for you to step aside and rest awhile.

The week is being led by partners, Jane Pearse and Catherine Bond.  They are both spiritual directors, have led pilgrimages and quiet days and have been ordained.  Jane loves the outdoors, poetry, walking and encouraging participation.  Catherine has run a retreat centre, has completed the full Ignatian exercises, teaches meditation, enjoys creativity and exploring her faith through art – both others’ and her own.  They both love sea bathing – you have been warned!

All home-cooked food with some meals in silence. A cosy library. A peaceful chapel. A long empty beach and good walking country. An accepting, creative community. Won’t you join us?

Single rooms are guaranteed this week (unless you specifically want to share).
