The long weekend for anybody who loves music and singing. A time to listen, to share, to sing, to learn. It's not about perfection: if you can sing at all you'll enjoy this. (If you play an instrument, do bring that along too.)

• An afternoon of fun workshops when we can move, breathe, explore and expand our singing horizons. With Claire Shaw a vocalist, creative workshop leader and arts education professional with over 20 years of arts education experience cultivated in both the UK and the USA. More about Claire.
• A seasonal concert by top local choir Cantamus, of which Othona's book-keeper Andy Davey is a member: "sublime music, sung to a high standard". (Ticket price included)
• A session in chapel simply singing the hymns, songs and carols associated with Advent (not Christmas) under the guidance of expert accompanist Brenda Stephenson
• "Let's Write a Song!" - a light-hearted session with Othona warden Tony Jaques who has a sideline in creating everything from spiritual chants to comic songs. We'll focus mainly on lyrics.
• An evening when each of us gets a chance to share our own favourites in recorded music

What can equal the uplifting feeling of creating harmony and singing our heart out with others, especially when the words we sing have power to move us too?

And all this in the context of our community gradually turning its attention towards Christmas. Log fires, great home-cooked food, Bridport Market for artisan gifts, contemplative time in chapel each morning and evening... what better way to enjoy the Advent season?

If your non-singing friend/partner wants to come and just be audience, by the way, that's okay too. As a special bargain we offer half price this weekend for any second person on your booking, sharing your bedroom (twin beds or double). 

Please note this event begins with Friday lunch and ends after breakfast on Monday.
