Join author, blogger and publisher Linda Parkinson-Hardman to write the story of your life. Whether you are just starting, or your memoir is almost complete, you will be guided to uncover additional stories and hidden connections in the events and circumstances of your life, adding extra depth and colour to the words you use to draw your readers in.
This retreat is your opportunity to spend time writing the next chapter, plan the structure or get busy with editing. With a variety of optional workshops, you can explore other techniques such as timelining, reflective journaling, place-based writing and creative non-fiction, to help add even more to your personal story. The retreat features lively discussions, fun writing prompts for when you are feeling stuck, and an opportunity for reflection on what you want to share and why.
Plenty of space to think and write is a key feature of the retreat, and if you wish you can also share your work for feedback, either in the group or with Linda directly.
Linda believes we navigate the world through the words we use, and that we understand our lives by the stories we tell ourselves and others. She is fascinated by how words shape our philosophy, creativity and view of the world. Her job during this retreat is to help writers like you make the most of the creative words you write so that your work reaches the people who most need to read it. Whether you have been writing for decades or are just starting, she can offer something to help, support and inspire you to live a writing life.
Please note: It is possible that deep seated emotions may arise throughout this writing retreat and it is important to remember it is not a therapeutic retreat or a substitute for therapy.
