A Place to be Real Together

Crisis Contemplation: Healing the Wounded Village

When the next crisis comes, as it will, how can we respond spiritually?

Thursday 9th - Sunday 12th October 2025

Space is available on this event!

Phil Rogacki

What is the contemplative opportunity that arises at the intersection of crisis and community? Join us for an exploration led by Phil Rogacki and informed by the work of scholar and mystic Dr Barbara Holmes.

The political turmoil, natural disasters exacerbated by climate change, and systemic instabilities of today’s world have made this material of crucial importance.

Crisis Contemplation - Dr Holmes's term - is the 'village response' that arises from our individual and communal experience of upheavals like pandemics, natural disasters, and political instability. It offers a roadmap for spiritual connection, healing trauma, and grounding ourselves in our shared origins.

Phil is a very experienced facilitator who invites us to an experiential, spiritual journey through this powerful teaching from Barbara Holmes, to immerse ourselves in the historical lessons she presents and the future she invites us to live into.

Together we will explore ways we can be better prepared as individuals to participate in, and foster contemplation in, future crises we and our communities might encounter.

Phil Rogacki comes from a Christian perspective, as does Dr Holmes, and this workshop will be presented in an inclusive way that allows all perspectives to participate fully.

N.B. This event will be delivered by Phil Rogacki and Othona entirely at Marion Dunlop House in Dorchester. See here for more detail of the venue.
