Hiring Information

The Four Seasons Studio, within the natural grounds of the Othona Community, is a unique space with far-reaching views over the beautiful Jurassic coastline and sea, which is available for private hire.

Facilities:

  • 45 sq m clear internal space (oak effect flooring with hidden floor power points.  Furniture in wall cupboards).  Opening to:
  • 80 sq m surrounding decking (partly covered)
  • 2 hidden craft sinks within main hall with 4m of permanent worksurface
  • Underfloor heating and heated ventilation (using renewable energy)
  • 20 padded chairs (extra plastic chairs outside)
  • 6 large folding tables (180 x 75cm) 
  • 6 medium folding tables (120 x 60 cm) 
  • 2 toilets (one with wheelchair access)
  • Kitchen with cooker, fridge, kettle and crockery
  • Excellent Wifi coverage
  • Blackout blinds
  • External coat and boot store
  • External sink
  • Wheelchair access including from car park (short garden walk)

 

As a guide, the indoor space would be good for a maximum of:

  • Yoga on mats for 10-12
  • Round table committee of 12
  • Chair circle of 15
  • Film or presentation for 25
  • Standing for 25

 

Restrictions

  • Smoking is permitted outdoors only
  • Alcohol can be consumed sensibly (but not sold)
  • We reserve the right to refuse loud music or PA
  • Access to the grounds and local footpaths by negotiation
  • No animals please (except guide dogs)

 

About Othona West Dorset

The Othona Community at West Dorset is a residential charity offering retreats, educational events and holidays.  Our vision is of an inclusive spirituality, open to people of any faith or none, creating opportunities for individuals and groups to develop and deepen their response to the needs of our world.  We welcome people to hire the studio who are respectful of this approach.  We feel the hall would be ideal for such as:

  • School, faith or charity groups
  • Well being classes (eg. Yoga, meditation, tai chi)
  • Environmental education
  • Discussion groups or meetings
  • Small film screening
  • Practical art sessions
  • Music rehearsal
