What is a sound bath?
Christine Pullar, facilitator, writes: A sound bath is both deeply healing and relaxing. During our 90 minute sound experience, you will be settled into your place, either seating or comfortably lying on a mat with blankets and guided around your body to fully relax.
The sounds will then begin with an array of Tibetan singing bowls followed by a crystal singing bowl that vibrates with a heart-based frequency. A gong will then play for an extended period of time to resonate fully throughout the body. You will then experience a range of sounds from rattles, ocean drum, bass drum and finally bells and chimes to indicate the end of the sound offering.
You will then enter a space of silence for around 5 minutes to allow the vibrations to continue to move within and will be gently guided back into the light with gentle body movement and poetry to match the season/time of year.
N.B. A pacemaker and mid/late stage pregnancy are both contraindications for a sound bath.
